When you think of 'hybrid', you think of the Toyota Prius. Toyota further extended the hybrid range with the Yaris, Auris, Auris Touring Sports, Prius+ and Prius plug-in.
Well, we're in 2015, the age of SUVs. Toyota has acted, and now we're soon to have the RAV4 Hybrid AWD. RAV4 was introduced back in the mid-90s with the name originated from 'Recreational Activity Vehicle' with 4-wheel-drive.
The new Hybrid has an un-Prius-like 2.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor, with a further electric motor on the rear axle for an electronic all-wheel-drive system.
This Hybrid model is part of Toyota's new RAV4 range which goes on sale in December 2015. Unfortunately, we won't actually have the RAV4 Hybrid on our roads until "early in 2016".
